ADD TO WISHLIST >

Like Allies Enhanced, this product has been remastered with cover design and layout by Jan "Jetty" Jetmar and updated along with some interior artwork by Dean Spencer.

Martial Options is 3 pages choke-full of edges to enhance some of the lesser-used Situational Rules.  Contained within are:

PURCHASER
Critique of certain edges which I feel are over powered. See my review for my overall opinions

Rapid Reloading: seems really easy to get for the power boost it gives to using heavy crossbows and other high reload weapons (though in a setting with modern firearms and mostly free action reloads it would probably work fine).

Floor Fighter: should probably still require 2' of movement to stand up from prone, otherwise it gives a -4 to be hit by ranged attacks without sufficient penalties remaining. A player can just stand up, perform normally, and then drop down at the end of their turn with no down-sides.

Power Attack: The universal melee damage boost given feels it should be a Heroic or higher ranked edge.

Also, small grammatical error in the Daring Strike description which makes it hard to understand

CREATOR
First, thank you for the review and rating. It is much appreciated.
For my table, the Rapid Reload did not overpower when we played a SWAdEd version of Evernight. The player used these rules for the Musketeer and enjoyed it without being overshadowed or overshadowing others. I think the lack of movement for ignoring the second action is enough of a counter to . This works best in a pre-modern setting that emphasizes melee. This gives ranged players with archaic guns or crossbows some umph. Perhaps raise the Athletics or Shooting to a d8 or make Seasoned to limit it a bit.
For Floor Fighter, I am not opposed to removing the movement reduction, but I do not see it as breaking much as players can do this normally and taking the feet means this is your shtick.
For Power Attack, this is a +1 to damage on average (+2 if your strength is lower than the weapon's damage). This was not game breaking at our table. You can either make this a Veteran (or Heroic if you like), or require higher Fighting and/or...See more

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
